All The Same / How Do You Know It’s Love

Song is ‘All The Same’ by The Velvet Monkeys, off the album ‘Future’ (1983).

A wee little Sunday morning video experiment, inspired by Kenneth Angers use of music, found footage and colour filters (although you can’t really sum his work up that simply..). I really love this song and thought it was a real shame that there was no video for it up on the internet that I could find so used it for this experimental video.

Found footage is taken from public domain instructional film: ‘How Do You Know It’s Love’ by Coronet Films. Via the Prelinger Archive at: archive.org/details/HowDoYou1950

Dark Triad Three (lo res)

The Dark Triad is a set of video pieces which constituted my final piece for my Fine Art degree in 2012.

The Dark Triad is a borrowed psychological term which relates to three distinct negative personality traits: Narcissism, Psychopathy, and Machievellianism. This video piece explores how I perceived my outward self with regards to the depressive mindset I had been suffering with at the time the piece was made.

Inspiration: The Boyle Family London Series sculptural pieces.

Dark Triad Two

The Dark Triad is a set of video pieces which constituted my final piece for my Fine Art degree in 2012.

The Dark Triad is a borrowed psychological term which relates to three distinct negative personality traits: Narcissism, Psychopathy, and Machievellianism. This video piece explores my self esteem and the concept of The Mirrored Self in relation to the depressive mindset I had been suffering with at the time the piece was made.
